Who can submit

  • You must be a licensed dentist with no commercial interest in any product you discuss.
  • Posts must be 100% exclusive to Dental Evidence. Articles cannot be cross-posted, republished, or submitted elsewhere, either before or after publication.

What we publish

  • Evidence-based dentistry: critical appraisals of new techniques or materials, clinical guidelines, and policy.
  • The headline must be phrased as a clear, compelling question — for example, "Is silver diamine fluoride more effective than traditional sealants?"
  • 500 to 1,000 words.
  • Accessible, professional language that translates clinical research into practical application without dense jargon.

Required structure

  • Title: the question-based headline.
  • Body: an evidence-based synthesis in concise paragraphs under H2 and H3 subheadings. Skip H1 — your title becomes the page heading.
  • Key takeaways: a closing section of concise bullet points on practical clinical application.
  • Citations: the full list of referenced studies at the very end.

Evidence and editorial standards

  • Every clinical claim, statistical outcome, and trial result carries an inline parenthetical citation or reference tag.
  • Complete citations at the end of the post — PubMed links, DOIs, or AMA format.
  • No unsubstantiated claims, commercial bias, or inflammatory critiques of specific practitioners or brands.

Patient privacy

  • No protected health information or identifying clinical detail of any kind.
  • Any clinical vignette or patient example must be generalized or entirely fictionalized.
